Emphasis is placed on problem-solving, structured programming, and algorithmic thinking. Students will write, test, and debug programs that solve problems while developing the habits of clear style, documentation, and code efficiency. This semester includes a minimum of 20 hours of structured, hands-on lab experiences, during which students design, implement, and debug Java programs. These labs provide practice with objects, control structures, and algorithms that are foundational for the AP® Computer Science A Exam.
