This course is designed to introduce students to the field of patient care. While this course focuses on training to become a nursing assistant, the topics covered in this course can be useful to any student wishing to enter the medical profession. Topics covered in the course include the role of the nursing assistant in long term care, communication skills and challenges, infection prevention and control, systems of the body, and various other topics in patient care.NOTE: This course is offered as an elective for high school credit. Students who take this course are not added to the Nursing Assistant registry for Nebraska.
